Why consign with us?

A La Mode Consignment has been in business for 12 years & we are committed to quality, style, slow fashion, our environment, and providing an inclusive community.

 

How does it work?

We consign by appointment through emailing: info@alamodeconsignment.com In this way, we can give you and your items the attention you deserve while making our selection. We prefer clothing on hangers, freshly laundered, clean & current. Shoes must be clean & have little or no wear. Items in garbage bags will be declined.

 

How do I get paid?

Once we have made our selection, you will receive an email from us, listing the items we took, the price they are going out on the floor for, and your payout date.  We issue payouts on the 1st & 15th of the month in store by cash. (Should the 1st or 15th be a non-business day, payout will be the next business day.)

As a consignor you have two payout options:

  • 50% in-store credit
  • 40% payout in cash* (Luxury brand items — Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Prada, YSL etc —are paid at 50%)

*E-transfers cost an extra $2 and mailed cheques are an extra $5.

 

We are not responsible for theft or loss of items. Any unsold items not picked up within 2 weeks of your payout date will be donated without further notice.  All monies become null and void after 6 months.

 

How do you authenticate?

At A La Mode, we believe in authenticating our items and work with a number of experts to ensure that your items are properly authenticated. We have a strict authenticity guideline that we adhere to. Unless we can guarantee the authenticity of an item 100%, we will not consign it.

Replicas and knockoffs will not be accepted at any time.

 

When you accept consignment for each season?

FALL: August 1 - December 15

WINTER: September 15 - January 15

SPRING: February 1 - July 15

SUMMER: May 1 - July 15

 

Which items do you not accept for consignment?

High heels, knee-high boots, fur coats, altered clothing, dress pants (unless high end), blazers, 2-piece sets, business suits, mother of the bride/groom, prom dresses, floor length gowns.

Menswear, teen & children’s wear.

LUXURY: Bags are especially in high demand year round. Pricing is based on market research, age of item, demand and on a case-by-case basis.

What if I don't see my brand in this list?

We are always open to taking on new brands and designers. If you don't see the brand you wish to consign, please contact us at: info@alamodeconsignment.com and we will be happy to help. (Please look at the list of designers/brands we don't accept below prior to contacting us.)

What are your condition standards for accepted items?

All items must be in either good (moderate wear), very good (little wear), excellent or pristine condition.  We prefer clothing on hangers, freshly laundered, clean & current. Shoes must be clean & have little or no wear. Items in garbage bags will be declined. We do not accept apparel items that are piling or have missing or broken zippers and buttons, tears or holes. We do not accept shoes that are scuffed, discoloured, or have broken parts. 

 

What is your COVID Policy?

We are open for business Tuesday to Saturday, 11:00 am to 4:00 pm.

Masks are mandatory upon entry as is the use of hand sanitizer.

Consignment intake is by appointment. Please call the store at 250-592-1116 during business hours or email us at info@alamodeconsignment.com. 

Clothing will be quarantined in the back for 24 hours & steamed prior to being offered for sale. Shoes & bags will be sanitized as per usual.

Clothes that have been tried on but not purchased will be quarantined in the back for 24 hours & steamed prior to being put back on the floor.

We will be sanitizing diligently throughout the day as well as taking time after we close to clean. Your safety and the safety of our staff and families is of the utmost importance.

How do your online promo codes work?

From time to time we offer promotions. Our online promotional codes cannot be used on in-store purchases. Offers cannot be combined with other discounts or offers. We do not do adjustments on previous purchases. 



What is your payment information?

A La Mode Consignment accepts the following forms of payment:

  • Visa
  • MasterCard
  • PayPal
  • Apple Pay

Your card will not be charged until your order has been shipped. If an item is not available, we will not charge you for it.



What is your shipping and handling policy?

COVID Update: Shipping times are taking longer than standard due to COVID. We handle all our orders with care and do our best to expedite your order as quickly as possible. It takes 1-2 business days for processing all online orders Monday - Friday, excluding holidays. All orders placed after 1 pm on Friday will be shipped the following Monday. We offer tracking on all orders, your tracking number will be emailed to you after your item has been processed. All orders over $500 require a signature. All shipping rates are listed in Canadian dollars. 

Canada: 

We offer free shipping on all orders over $150* (before applicable taxes) within Canada. We use Canada Post expedited for this option. *After discounts, before shipping and taxes

United States: 

We offer free shipping on all orders over $150* (before applicable taxes) to the United States. We use Canada Post ground service for this option.  *After discounts, before shipping and taxes

International Orders:

We offer shipping services from UPS, Canada Post & DHL for all International orders. Some orders may experience customs delays. Unfortunately, we have no control over these charges or delays and cannot predict what they may be. We suggest that you contact your local customs office for additional information. Shipping promotions do not apply to international orders. You are responsible for import duties and taxes on your international order. 

Please Note:

  • In the event of merchandise damage or loss during transit, it is your responsibility to file a claim with the carrier.
  • If you refuse any shipments from A La Mode Consignment, you are responsible for the original shipping charges, any duties, taxes, and/or customs charges that are incurred on the package, and the cost of returning the package to us. This amount will be deducted from your refund.


What is your return and exchange policy?

All sales are final.  We do not offer returns or exchanges. This includes Gift Card purchases. 



Defective merchandise

If you believe that you have received defective merchandise, you must notify us within 3 days of receiving the product to be eligible for a refund. There are no exceptions.



How do I track my order?

Your shipping tracking number will be sent to you once the order is shipped. We can not make changes to your order after it’s shipped.  We will be happy to make any changes to your order if you contact us before it has been processed.

  

What is order cancelled order policy?

Cancelled orders happen. If your order status changes to "cancelled,” we will contact you within 48 hours.


Situations where an order can result in your order being placed "cancelled":

  • Out of Stock and No Reorder Available. On occasion, we run out of items that are no longer available for reorder.
  • Credit Declined. If your credit card is declined, we cancel the order.

Your credit will not be charged if the order is cancelled. 

 

What is your fraud prevention review?

To prevent fraud, if you provide information that does not match the information held by your credit card company, your order will be flagged by our system with a security review alert. If this occurs, we will email you to verify additional information. If you do not respond within 3 business days, the order will be cancelled automatically. Merchandise in an order that is pending security review is not reserved and can be purchased by other customers.
